Land Acknowledgement

As an organization serving communities across Northern Alberta, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut, we recognize that our employees, clients and partners work on many different traditional territories. Our headquarters is located in Edmonton, Alberta, and we acknowledge the traditional lands and peoples connected to this region through the following statement.

Canadian Corps of Commissionaires Northern Alberta Division Headquarters is located on the territory of the Néhiyaw (Cree), Niitsitapi (Blackfoot), Métis, Nakoda (Stoney), Dene, and Anishinaabe (Ojibway/Saulteaux), that are now known as part of Treaty Six Territory. The Commissionaires Northern Alberta respects the sovereignty, lands, histories, languages, knowledge systems and cultures of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit nations. We recognize our responsibility in advancing reconciliation, creating respectful relationships and uplifting Indigenous voices within our organization and communities.
